Concert Review in BluesMagazine (Netherlands)

Verslag 21ste Grolsch Bluesfestival
Schoeppingen 26 en 27 Mei 2012

(Translated from Dutch)

Delta Moon was the next band. They were at this festival [the Grolsch Blues Festival in Schoeppingen, Germany] two years ago and were a hit then. A super tight, wonderfully rhythmic sound. It is southern rock, delta blues, Mississippi blues and bayou music all in one. The perfect mix of Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, Tony Joe White and Creedence Clearwater Revival. A deep groove. Leader Tom Gray and guitarist Mark Johnson both play slide guitar, succeeding each other, complementing each other, and below that a delicious swamp rhythm. The voice of lead singer Tom seemed a little less powerful than the last time, somewhat huskier, but nice and relaxed. A glass of bourbon and then on the porch watching the Mississippi would make it complete! Unfortunately, I make do with a glass of wine, a garden bench and patch of grass!
